Join the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture and the National Park Service’s George Washington Memorial Parkway as we honor the culture and history of Native Americans with the presentation of Tribal Voices: A Native American Heritage Celebration on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm in the Park’s historic Bumper Car Pavilion.

A musical adventure about women who make history! Fourth-grader Naomi’s field trip to a Women’s History Museum turns into a time travel adventure where she encounters inspirational women who have overcome barriers and made waves throughout U.S. history. From activists to athletes, artists and more, the musical features the stories of female trailblazers such as Harriet Tubman, Virginia Apgar, Ruby Bridges, Sally Ride, Florence Griffith Joyner, and Sonia Sotomayor. 

the Puppet Co. favorites Ingrid and Mollie are bringing a charming and educational adventure to the main stage for Halloween! Come meet Jennie the Cat! 

Join us for some Halloween fun at Glen Echo Park! Activities include decorating a Trick-or-Treat bag and other crafts, a festive fall photo-op (say that 10 times!), a costume contest (will you win for "Most Spooky," "Most Creative," or "Best Group?"), and Trick-or-Treating at our resident art studios and galleries. We focus on the arts-y & crafts-y more than the scary, but we love to see all the costumes – even the scary ones!

The Washington Conservatory of Music and Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture presents a A FREE FAMILY EVENT titled “Opera in a Basket”, produced by and in partnership with The CAAPA – Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 10 am in the Bumper Car Pavilion.

This free family event presents opera and its history in a fun way suitable for children of all ages. Come and discover the highlights of opera found in a basket!

Pillowcases need a refresh? Strange spot on your favorite tee? Shibori is the answer! Shibori, aka Japanese tie dye, is a multifaceted art where you can tie, fold, and stitch your way to a whole new look for tired linens, clothes, and more. Angela Malchionno, the artist behind the current Stone Tower Gallery exhibition, will walk you through the fun and rewarding process.

Bring one or two items to transform using the Itajime method of resist, a technique that utilizes shaped blocks to create bold, geometric designs. Please be sure your pieces are natural, plant based fibers like linen, cotton, or hemp. We’ll be using indigo dye to dip into, a vibrant, striking blue you’re sure to love. 

Limited number of tea towels will be available.

Beginner friendly. Open to all ages. No experience required.
