Fall Frolic 2019

  

 

Fall Frolic -- on Saturday, October 26, 2019 -- is the Glen Echo Park Partnership's annual Halloween-themed family event. It's open to the public, and visitors of all ages are invited to the Park to explore the arts through hands-on crafts, Halloween activities, trick-or-treating and visiting open studios. It’s a safe and fun Halloween event with something for everyone!

Our Halloween festivities take place from 1pm to 4pm with most activities taking place in the Spanish Ballroom. Rain or shine. Most activities are FREE

 

COME IN COSTUME! There will be a costume contest and prizes! Categories are:

  • Best Child's Costume (0 - 6 years old)
  • Best Child's Costume (7+ years old)
  • Best Adult Costume
  • Best Group Costume (2 or more people)

Be sure to register at the table near the stage to be included in the contest!

 

NOTE: SIGN UP FOR THE COSTUME CONTEST BY 3PM!

  • Pick a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch ($2/pumpkin) and decorate it 

‚Äčat one of our craft tables

  • Get a free Halloween (temporary) tattoo
  • Do other free craft activities (decorate your own trick or treat bag,

make a Frankenstein monster or silly bat)

  • Play some fun Halloween games
  • Trick-or-treating around the Park!

 

Adults will enjoy strolling through the Park’s open studios and galleries, including Glen Echo Pottery, the Art Glass Center, Photoworks, Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery, SilverWorks, and more.

 

The Halloween celebration will conclude with a costume parade through the Park at 3:30p.m. (weather-permitting)

Volunteer!

 

It's lots of fun to participate in Fall Frolic, and volunteering provides a great opportunity for students to earn SSL hours! We need volunteers ages 13 and older to help supervise and direct activities. Volunteer activities include:

 

* Helping with set up and clean up

* Supervising Halloween activities and crafts

 

Volunteer shifts are available from 11am to 5pm. Volunteers are asked to sign up for at least one three-hour shift. Please email rsherman@glenechopark.org with preferred volunteer tasks and times.
