- Performance by Washington Conservatory Jazz Players | 7pm - 8:30pm | Cuddle Up Pavilion (backup heat location Washington Conservatory) | FREE
-
The Washington Conservatory Jazz Players, led by acclaimed saxophonist Marty Nau, bring vibrant energy and artistry to every stage they grace. This premier ensemble represents the jazz legacy of the Washington Conservatory of Music and has performed at distinguished venues and events including the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Glen Echo Park Art Walk, and the Washington Conservatory’s 40th Anniversary Gala. Their performances celebrate the spirit of jazz while connecting generations through rhythm, improvisation, and community.
- Contra Dance with Friday Night Dancers | 7:30pm - 11pm | Spanish Ballroom | "Pay-what-you-can"
-
Contra is a fun and easy dance, and darn it, you need more dancing in your life! No experience needed. Come alone or with friends! All ages. All genders. All body types.
Colette Mrozek calls to the music of Are We There Yet?, which is Susan Brandt (flute), Tina Chancey (violin), Charlie Pilzer (piano), and Tom Wright (mandolin).
The lesson is at 7:30pm, the dancing starts at 8:00pm and goes until 11:00pm!
NOTE: We now use a "Pay-what-you-can" sliding scale admission. That means you choose what to pay. The minimum is $5, the break-even price is $15, and any amount more will support your fellow dancers and keep this hallowed dance alive. Thank you!
- Zouk Dance with District Zouk | 6:30pm - 12:30am | Ballroom Back Room | $
-
Join us for a District Zouk social at Glen Echo at the Ballroom Back Room!
As usual, we'll have an open level beginner-friendly class followed by social dancing. We'll also have a lambada practica before the class so our lambada students and dancers can practice together.
Come get your dance on!
