STONE TOWER STUDIO

The Stone Tower Studio at Glen Echo Park is the artistic home of resident artist J. Jordan Bruns. Inside the tower, you'll discover an array of work across mediums and styles—from photorealism to surrealistic abstraction. The studio celebrates creativity and experimentation, offering a robust schedule of classes Tuesday through Friday. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, there's a class designed for every level.

In Bloom: The Work of Evelyn Johns | June 30 - July 26, 2026

Evelyn Johns creates and abstracted overview of her teenage years, painting the present though pieces that often appear as though they are already a memory, never truly reflecting what they are now. The exhibition hopes to hold on to moments in time for just a little longer with portraits painting from life, intersecting transitional places, and overarching symbols of nature and youth.

In addition to Bruns’ own work, the Stone Tower hosts bi-annual visiting artist exhibitions each May and October, featuring artists from the Art Clinic Online (ACO). ACO is a virtual platform created to spotlight artists from the DMV area and connect them with a broader audience of art enthusiasts. The program meets every other Saturday morning for one hour, offering insights into what local artists are making and the impact their work has on the community.

While the ACO typically operates online, the May and October exhibitions provide a unique opportunity to experience the artists’ work in person—and even participate in a workshop led by the featured artist.
