    The Rock-A-Sonics hold their instruments
    Description

Let's dance for Glen Echo Park! We invite you to join us for our Gala Swing Dance Afterparty on May 16 in support of our annual Gala in the Park fundraiser. An afterparty like no other, we'll keep the celebration in full swing with dancing, champagne and dessert. Every ticket fuels a creative community where art, dance, and music thrive!

We're delighted to welcome The Rock-A-Sonics back to the Park, as they bring their exciting mix of atomic age rock ‘n’ roll, classic country, rockabilly, and rhythm & blues to the dance floor. Featuring Willie Barry on vocals and acoustic guitar, Eric Hurtt on electric guitar and vocals, Louie Newmyer on upright bass and vocals, Tommy Bowes on drums and vocals, and Kim Reynolds on piano, steel guitar and saxophone.

The afterparty kicks off with a beginner-friendly swing lesson from 8:30pm - 9pm, taught by Tom & Debra of Gottaswing (lesson included with the price of admission). We'll follow the lesson with champagne, dessert, and swing dancing with the band. We hope you'll join us in the open-air Bumper Car Pavilion for this evening in support of the Park!

    Description

The Park View Gallery presents Journeys Through Light and Dark, a solo exhibition by printmaker Deborah Schindler. In her prints and drawings, Schindler has created her own universe of animals, landscapes and figures that take on lively curvilinear shapes as they cavort across the paper. She uses pattern in unusual ways to create texture, variety and spatial depth. Her images come from an eclectic array of sources: old master paintings, folk art, dance, theater, sports, popular culture and photographs.
