On 19 Oct 2024, come experience a real Strauss Viennese Ball at Glen Echo Park! Dress up to the nines and join us at the prestigious Spanish Ballroom for an elegant evening of dancing on a 7500 sq feet floating wood dance floor, one of the largest dance spaces in the United States! The Grand Ball features live music by con Brio, the famous Fledermaus Quadrille #6, a Snow Ball dance, and a Grand March! Light refreshments/snacks available for purchase.

Attire: Formal (white/black tie) encouraged; semi-formal allowed as well!

Ballroom Time is pleased to present their Second Anniversary Ballroom Dance Gala (The Fall Ball)!

Special evening dance with the 15-piece Hotel Paradise Orchestra featuring vocals by Janet Paulsen! Hotel Paradise will be playing a selection of beautiful ballroom music covering a range of dance styles including waltz, foxtrot, tango, samba, quickstep, swing, rumba, cha-cha, mambo, bachata and more.

During the evening there will be a promenade march led by Ranger Stan, an iconic figure in the history of the Spanish Ballroom.  We're planning a mixer or two, a professional showcase, and a couple of samba line dances.

Nia is unique dance fitness fusion program. It blends 9 movement forms and freedance with the intention to condition, express and self-heal through movement.  The music is fun and inspiring. The class is done barefoot to increase body awareness, groundedness and conditioning for the feet and body. Please come and experience this class! You and your body will receive the gift of  JOY!

Casey Bernstein is a senior master teacher, with 33 years Nia teaching experience. Casey is a Nia teacher trainer for multiple levels. Doors will open at 1:30pm. Cost of the workshop is $15 payable at the door only (cash, check, credit card or Zelle accepted). Students pay $5 (cash only).

The Workshop will focus on Standard/Smooth dances that move around the expansive Spanish ballroom in a line of dance. The first hour of instruction will cover basic steps used in the waltzes: slow waltz, Viennese waltz, and samba. The second hour will cover foxtrot, quickstep, and ballroom tango.

Beginner lessons 2:00-4:00; Practice 4:00-4:30 All are invited to participate, no partner required.
