    Description

Ballroom Time presents a multi-level Ballroom Dance Workshop in the Ballroom Backroom on Saturday afternoon, November 28, 2026 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm followed by one hour of instructor-led line dancing, practice, and open dancing until 5:30 as the music plays. This multi-level Workshop focuses on Latin dances as danced at our recurring Sunday afternoon events. It is designed with beginner to intermediate-level dancers in mind, covering lead and follow techniques along with basic steps and figures that can be used across multiple dance styles.

-Hour 1: The “Break-on-2” family of dances: Mambo, Rumba, Cha-cha and Bolero.

-Hour 2: The “Chassée” family of dances: Bachata and Merengue.

-Hour 3: Practica session led by our instructors. As the music plays students may line dance solo or dance as couples.

No partner is required to attend. We do facilitate rotation of partners during the workshop. This is always optional for those who dance with a preferred partner. This workshop focused on Latin dances complements our planned December 19 workshop focused on Standard dances that move abound the ballroom in a line of dance. Students are encouraged to take both.

The Workshop will be taught by Tom Hall and Min Zhang with assistance from other Ballroom Time volunteers.  The instructors have a combined total of over 50 years of ballroom dance experience.
