Welcome to the Beginner NIGHTCLUB TWO STEP workshop! You will learn a small, easy, and fun routine with repeatable steps!

1.5 hour workshop with instructor Reginald Kapteyn plus a 30 minute open practice at the end of the session.

Nightclub 2‑Step is the smooth, romantic partner dance that lets you glide to today’s favorite slow jams and ballads, perfect for weddings, parties, and club nights. With easy rock steps and long, flowing side steps, it feels natural even for beginners while still giving experienced dancers room to play and express the music. Whether you’re on a crowded dance floor or sharing a special song with someone, Nightclub 2‑Step turns simple slow dancing into a stylish, confident experience. Originally choreographed by the legendary Buddy Schwimmer, this dance carries a rich, authentic lineage, and we had the privilege of learning it directly from the late, great Buddy himself—so you’re getting Nightclub 2‑Step just the way the master intended.  Songs like Ed Sheeran's "perfect" are a great example of the style and tempo that work beautifully.

All are invited to participate, no need to bring a partner. Pre-registration is not required but you may email pak3596@gmail.com to pre-register or to ask any questions.

2:45pm: Lesson | 3:30pm - 6:00pm: Social Dance

Ballroom Time celebrates its third anniversary with a special $3 dance! Beginner lesson in East coast swing at 2:45 PM.  Music by DJ Broomtime (our volunteers) from 3:30 until 6:00.  The music covers a variety of ballroom dance styles: Slow Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Samba, Mambo, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Hustle, Merengue, and more.  During the afternoon there will be a mixer and optional line dancing whenever a Samba plays.

Ballroom Time presents a ballroom dance on Sunday afternoon.  A beginner lesson in Viennese Waltz will take place at 2:45pm, followed by dancing to music by The Janet Paulsen Trio from 3:30pm - 6pm.  During the afternoon, there will be a mixer and some samba line dancing.

Join us for square dancing at Glen Echo Park! We'll start out with a square dance intro lesson for all skill levels from 2:45pm - 3pm. Then, a caller will lead a rousing square dance along with live music! The band will play from 3pm - 5:30pm so get ready for big square dancing fun that still gets you home early. No partner or special attire required. Shoes with backs are recommended (no flip flops).
