    DCLX presents a DCLXtra swing dance featuring Russ Wilson’s Swingtette featuring Craig Gildner and Paul Cosentino. Join us for a beginner Lindy hop lesson at 8:00pm and swing out in the social dance to the live band beginning at 9:00pm. This event is only open to **fully vaccinated** attendees, and masks will be required.

    Concerts for Causes welcomes you to a 1930's Great Gatsby style concert party, a Big Ballroom event at the historic Glen Echo Park.

    With performances by the amazing "I am your Daddy Band" (Tribute to Kid Creole and the Coconuts) and more (Think Cotton Club). Includes Complimentary Dance lessons. 1930's theme style and dress. Events thru out the park and the main event in the Spanish Ballroom. Concerts for Causes Inc. provides musical instruments to students in underserved communities.

    Ticket includes a free swing dance lesson with Tom & Debra of Gottaswing!

    Band will play for dances including latin, salsa, meregue, cha-cha, and jitterbug.

    Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture welcomes Halley Shoenberg and Her Swingin' Cats for a swing dance spectacular in the Spanish Ballroom!

    Join us for a Swing Dance in Glen Echo Park’s Historic Spanish Ballroom! Halley Shoenberg and Her Swingin’ Cats will swing the night away August 23, 2025 with hits from Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sintatra and more, featuring Christiana Drapkin on vocals. Instrumentalists include Halley Shoenberg (clarinet/saxophone), Doug Elliott (trombone), Harry Appleman (piano), Cyndy Elliott (bass) and Francis Thompson (drums).A beginner lesson (free with the price of admission) will be taught by Ellen Engle & Marc Shepanek of Flying Feet Enterprises.

    Clarinet and saxophone player Halley Shoenberg has performed for more than 300 swing dances over 27 years at Glen Echo Park. Long-time member of the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, the LaSalle Dance Orchestra, Craig Gildner Big Band and Blue Sky 5, she has led her own hot jazz group, “Halley’s Hot Gumbo Swingtet,” her 11-piece 1920s-style “Revival Jazz Band,” and now returns with her 1940’s-style small group swing ensemble.
