The Park View Gallery presents Parallel Paths, a two-person exhibition by artists Rebecca Doran and Stacy Smith Evans. Parallel Paths presents the unique photographic visions of Doran and Evans as they explore the interconnected waterways of the Potomac River and Chesapeake & Ohio Canal. Rising early and meeting at dawn, the Washington, D.C. area photographers seek the stillness and diversity of these shared paths and are drawn to their wide water landscapes, rocky woodlands, and distinctive flora. Just as the river and canal parallel each other, the artists’ work is complementary through similar gestures, tones, and subject matter. Parallel Paths encourages the viewer to observe and reflect on seasonal and lifecycle changes that may otherwise go unnoticed in this nearby ecosystem.
