Description
Retrospective of Karen Keating, Executive Director Emerita of Photoworks/Glen Echo Park.
The 40+ handmade photos printed in the darkroom trace Karen Keating's photographic journeys: from her roots in the small town of Coshocton, Ohio, to her connections with the people she met around the world. Poignant portraits in Cuba and Honduras are showcased along with Keating's intimate photographic studies of Mothers & Daughters in the DMV of the 1970s. Additional work highlights her reverence for nature and tree-scapes in New Hampshire.
This wide-ranging collection of photographic prints is united by Keating's superb eye, deep connections with people, and her rare ability to bring out the rich depth of printing, through unveiling shades of black, white and revealing all the shadows in between.
Opening Reception: 6:00pm - 8:30pm | Artist Talk: 6:00pm
