Join us for an Irish social gathering filled with traditional music and dance! EducArte presents its first céilí at Glen Echo Park. We will learn some basic Irish dance steps and group dances, called by dancer Kate Spanos and accompanied by live music by some of the region’s best Irish musicians, including Marty Frye (flute), David McKindley-Ward (tenor banjo), and Lexie Boatright (concertina), joined by special guest Ryan Ward (piano) from New York. We will also have a performance by the talented students of the Baltimore-Washington Academy of Irish Culture during the break. This event is open to all ages and levels. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Note: Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is not required, but face masks are highly recommended.

The Halloween Howl is the perfect show to kick off the bewitching season, a fun-filled shindig that features live performances of the greatest Halloween hits from the last 50 years, plus costumed performers, and of course, dancing.You’ll hear all the classic Halloween hits, including: Werewolves Of London, Thriller, Love Potion # 9, Black Magic Woman, I Put A Spell On You, Monster Mash, and many more. Costumes are very much encouraged. So gather up your coolest ghouls, and we’ll see you at the Spanish Ballroom, Aoooooohhhhhh! Produced by the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture, Newmyer Flyer, and James Bazen.
