  • VIRTUAL - Artist Talk: Conversation with Preston Sampson

    -
    Sampson Artist Talk
    Description

Join us for an evening discussion with Preston Sampson, a figurative expressionist painter whose work captures the essence of Black people throughout US history. He will discuss themes from his solo exhibition, Respite, on view in Glen Echo Park Partnership's Stone Tower Gallery through November 15, 2020.

In the exhibition, he portrays Black Americans enjoying simple pleasures. During a time of civil unrest and the fight for Black lives, Sampson's portraits create an environment for rest or relief.
