STONE TOWER STUDIO
The Stone Tower Studio at Glen Echo Park is the artistic home of resident artist J. Jordan Bruns. Inside the tower, you'll discover an array of work across mediums and styles—from photorealism to surrealistic abstraction. The studio celebrates creativity and experimentation, offering a robust schedule of classes Tuesday through Friday. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned artist, there's a class designed for every level.
In addition to Bruns’ own work, the Stone Tower hosts bi-annual visiting artist exhibitions each May and October, featuring artists from the Art Clinic Online (ACO). ACO is a virtual platform created to spotlight artists from the DMV area and connect them with a broader audience of art enthusiasts. The program meets every other Saturday morning for one hour, offering insights into what local artists are making and the impact their work has on the community.
While the ACO typically operates online, the May and October exhibitions provide a unique opportunity to experience the artists’ work in person—and even participate in a workshop led by the featured artist.
- Elaine S. Wilson | Construction and Deconstruction: Visiting Artist Exhibition | May 1 – May 31, 2026
-
Construction and Deconstruction brings together a selection of paintings by Elaine S. Wilson that explore construction sites and landscapes in flux. Focusing on spaces shaped by building, demolition, and renewal, Wilson attends closely to the formal rhythms of scaffolding, machinery, exposed structures, and shifting light. Her paintings move beyond simple documentation, finding nuance, order, and unexpected beauty in environments often seen as temporary or overlooked. Through sustained observation, Wilson transforms these sites of change into meditations on structure, instability, and the visual poetry of the built world.
