Events & Venue Manager

The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture seeks an Events & Venue Manager. This position is responsible for managing bookings and assisting with logistics for events spaces for social dances and private events; managing event staff and caterers; and for the logistics for Partnership produced events and festivals.  This position will also oversee the work of the Events & Venue Assistant Manager. The work week for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, with both daytime and evening hours. The ideal candidate will be a flexible person located in the DC metropolitan area with a bachelor’s degree, at least five years of events or venue management experience, the ability to work independently and strong communication and time management skills. Events & Venue Assistant Manager

This position is responsible for assisting with the management of Park venue bookings; scheduling and acting in the role of event staff; preparing the venues for events; coordinating with renters/partners and vendors during Park events; and providing logistical support for Partnership events and festivals. Carousel Attendant

The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture has an immediate opening for a Carousel Assistant. Some technical knowledge and customer service experience preferred.  Applicants must be 16 or older and speak English fluently. The position includes selling and collecting tickets, assisting with maintaining the carousel and carousel building (polishing brass, sweeping floors, etc.) responding to customer inquires, and helping to provide a safe and enjoyable ride for Park visitors. The position also requires the ability to climb ladders and step on and off a moving carousel (training will be provided).  The job is part time, seasonal. Part Time Summer After Camp Counselors
Glen Echo Park is seeking part time After Camp Counselors.  We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced counselors to lead and assist with After Camp programs for students ages 5-12 for our Summer Camp programs, June 18 to August 31, 2018. Ideal candidates will have experience creating curriculum and supervising and/or working with children in a camp or class setting.  This part time position offers approximately 18-23 hours per week for the dates above, 1:45/2:45pm to 6:15pm, Monday through Friday.  Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old for the lead position and a minimum of 16 years old for an assistant position. Glen Echo Park Aquarium Summer Camp Assistant Intern

Glen Echo Park Aquarium seeks a Summer Camp Assistant Intern to assist in the delivery of aquatic science programs at GEPA summer camps for ages 4 to 12.  The Summer Camp Assistant will utilize the classroom, the Aquarium, and the outdoor environment including our local creek and children’s garden, to assist in teaching summer camp programs.  The Summer Camp Assistant must demonstrate the ability to interact professionally and exercise careful oversight of all campers, volunteers, parents, and to work with aquarium staff, and the general public.  This position requires excellent independent work skills and the ability to multitask.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, a love for the outdoors, and an ability to communicate environmental education principles to children. This person must also have sufficient mobility and strength to move about the Park and Aquarium, our outdoor environment, assist children outdoors on rugged terrain, and to move education equipment.
