Description
The Stone Tower Gallery presents Confluence and Connections. Bettina Ammann, Meg Dickerson, and Barbara Stauffer are artists whose practices were profoundly shaped by their shared time in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Post-Baccalaureate Ceramics Artisanry program. This exhibition highlights how the experience in this rigorous and collaborative environment led the artists to develop distinctly personal styles united by a shared exploration of human fragility, the natural world, and the remnants of human systems. Through form, surface, and conceptual inquiry, each artist reflects on the delicate balance between humanity and the environment. From Stauffer’s exploration of biological fragility and resilience to Dickerson’s explorations of leftover fragments that pay homage to coastal communities to Ammann’s meditations on discomfort, their work reveals the vulnerability embedded in our relationships, the quiet persistence of organic forces, and the haunting traces of systems once thought permanent. Together, their voices form a compelling meditation on human resilience, collapse, and the blurred boundaries between human, natural, and constructed worlds.
