Maryland State Arts Council
Public Art Across Maryland Artwork Commissions is the state’s Percent-for-Art program. For all new or renovated State-owned buildings, a percentage of the construction budget is set aside for public art. Independent artists apply for a project through an open Call to Artists and are selected by an artist selection committee. MSAC manages the process from artist selection, through design, fabrication, and installation and the work becomes part of the State public art collection. The program is pleased to announce the publication of Request for Qualifications for the following facilities: Maryland District Court Catonsville District Courthouse, and Maryland Department of Agriculture Salisbury Animal Health Lab.

In response to the COVID-19 State of Emergency, the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) has created special grant opportunities that provide emergency funding to arts organizations and artists in Maryland as they adjust to losses sustained because of programming, operations, and events that have been modified or cancelled.

Cerf+
Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation
The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need.
AWAW COVID-19 Emergency Relief Grant
Anonymous Was A Woman (AWAW) has introduced an emergency relief grant program to support artists impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. The program will distribute $250,000 in grants, up to $2,500 apiece, to artists who have experienced financial hardship from loss of income or opportunity as a direct result of the crisis. As with AWAW’s annual award, the program is open to women-identifying visual artists over the age of 40 in the United States and territories, and aims to address the unique challenges faced by artists in middle age or older, particularly at this critical time.
Artist Relief Project
Who is Eligible to Apply? Any artist in any discipline who has been impacted by COVID19-related cancellations and closures may apply for assistance. Stipends and support will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis, with the only limitation being how much money we are able to raise.
WPA and Andy Warhol Foundation
Wherewithal Recovery Grants will be awarded on a bi-weekly basis to DC-area artists whose income or opportunities have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. These grants are intended to support people with immediate financial needs (rent, food, childcare, healthcare, etc.).
FCA Emergency Grants COVID-19 Fund
The FCA will disburse one-time $1,500 grants to artists who have had performances or exhibitions canceled or postponed because of the pandemic.
