At its Glen Echo Park location – for children, teens, and adults – WCM offers group classes in Irish music (flute, tin whistle, fiddle, bouzouki, banjo, mandolin, and bodhran), voice, folk guitar, ukulele, and early childhood music. Private lessons are taught for piano, voice, guitar, all strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. Additional offerings include a Suzuki strings program, student recitals, summer camps, ensembles, special events, and public professional concerts.
The Conservatory also sponsors the Tapestry Music Project, an outreach program providing music classes and private lessons for children of immigrant and low-income families in the communities where they reside and in select Title I schools.
The Conservatory is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Pre-collegiate Arts Schools (ACCPAS), is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and a member of the National Guild for Community Arts Education.
Lessons and classes are offered online during any mandated closures and as an alternative to in-person lessons on request.
