    HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

    The Glen Echo Park Partnership is proud to feature Hispanic and Latino artists, showcasing traditional and contemporary arts, in our programming throughout the year. We are eager to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and share the work of Hispanic and Latino artists with our community.

    Hispanic Heritage Month 2026 Programming (September 15 - October 15)

    ¡Música! Latin Dance Social!  | Ballroom Back Room | September 18 at 7:30pm - 12:30am | $

    Música Latin Dance Social is a social dance focusing on salsa and bachata. Two lessons are offered by instructor Amber Logan prior to the social: a sensational salsa lesson from 7:30pm to 8:15pm and a fiery bachata lesson from 8:15pm to 9:00pm. All levels are welcome. The social, where everyone dances together, starts after the two 45-minute lessons at 9:00pm, with DJ Sidekick spinning the best salsa and bachata songs until 12:30am! Be sure to get your tickets in advance for $17, or at the door for $20. Those under 18 can receive a $10 ticket at the door.

    We welcome our doors to all levels, ages, and abilities as Moxie Movement Dance Company strives to build community in the arts for everyone.

    Cueva Flamenca de Glen Echo — an intimate Flamenco performance | Ballroom Back Room | September 25 at 8:00pm | $

    Step into Cueva Flamenca de Glen Echo, an immersive tablao‑style evening inspired by the legendary caves of Sacromonte. Featuring Furia Flamenca Dance Company with live music, this intimate performance draws the audience close to the artists—where every heel strike, every cry of cante, and every pulse of the guitar becomes part of a shared, electric moment.

    Savor the experience with tapas and sangría available for purchase, creating the warmth and conviviality of a true Andalusian night.

    Cuban Dance with DC Casineros | Spanish Ballroom | September 26 at 2:00pm - 5:00pm | $

    DC Casineros Dance Company presents dance lessons and a social dance rooted in AfroCuban, Afro-Caribbean, and French/English contra dances. If you already love contra and/or square dancing to a caller, this style will feel like home to you. You'll be changing partners within a circle formation in response to a caller...but with Cuban spin on it!

    DC Casineros has been presenting their popular Rueda de Casino social dances at the Park for several years. The Company's co-directors, Amanda Gill and Adrian Valdivia, have performed and taught at local venues and have experience with dance-as-therapy.

    Mummers' Play with Washington Revels at Echo Arts Festival | September 27 | FREE

    On the Isla of Puerto Rico, there is one most beloved creature, a tiny frog. Small, but mighty, its call is as loud as a lion's roar. But have you ever wondered how it got its iconic sound? Come join Washington Revels for our newest Latine Mummers' Play as we tell one of the many legends of the heartbeat of Puerto Rico, the coquí!

    Tango Dance with Tango Brillante | Ballroom Back Room | September 20, September 27, October 4, and October 11 at 6:30pm - 11:00pm | $

    Sunday evenings, Tango Brillante presents lessons and a dance in the Ballroom Back Room. Tango lesson (6:30pm), Milonga lesson (7:30pm), Social Dance (8:30-11:00pm). Live music on the first Sunday of each month! For more information about each dance, visit Tango Brillante's page.
