Decades Ahead: Visions of the Future

Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture announces a Call for Artwork for a juried art exhibition to be held in the Popcorn Gallery April 2, 2022 – May 1, 2022.

This year, the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture, Inc. is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As we reflect on our achievements and contributions to the arts community over the last two decades, we also look ahead and consider how we can have a greater impact in the region in the decades to come. To commemorate the anniversary, we invite artists in the DC Metro area to submit works that convey their vision for the future.

Artists play a critical role in our society as truth tellers, and as such their art serves as a reflection of our humanity, mirroring the realities of our culture and present day issues. What will society look like in decades to come? How would the arts impact our culture 20 years from now? How do you see your art evolving? What is your vision for yourself as an artist in the future?

This juried show aims to showcase artworks that embody various interpretations of the future—personal, cultural, social or political.

Upon submission, please ensure that you will be able to drop off your artwork the week of March 28, 2022 and pick up the week of May 2, 2022.

This call is open to artists 21 years of age or older, working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D and 3D media, including sculpture and digital artwork.
