Call For Entries

The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture invites young artists (ages 18 and under) to participate in the exhibition Inspiring New Memories, May 3 to June 2, 2019 in the Stone Tower Gallery.  This exhibition is presented in celebration of the theme of the Partnership’s annual Gala in the Park, to be held on May 18, 2019.

The Stone Tower Gallery is located on the 1st floor of the Stone Tower building.

Eligible Artwork

We invite young artists to explore and celebrate their favorite experiences at Glen Echo Park through visual art and imagine new memories they’d like to make here.

We are seeking artwork that depicts Glen Echo Park in some way – perhaps a program, or activity or a unique space – it’s up to you!   What makes Glen Echo Park special for you?

Artists will include a brief description about why the artwork and what they are depicting at the Park is meaningful for him or her.

Artwork may be representational or abstract.   The exhibition is open to both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. Open to all young artists. Work does not need to have been created in a class at Glen Echo Park.

Additional Guidelines

  • Artists may enter up to two (2) pieces for consideration. Artists must complete an entry form online and provide an image for each piece.
  • The Partnership will select works to be included based on relation to the exhibition theme and availability of space.
  • The Partnership will arrange all works for display.
  • The Partnership reserves the right to exclude any item that has not been suitably prepared for display, is too large for proper display, or does not meet the criteria for eligible work.
  • Two-dimensional artwork must be framed and/or ready to hang.  All hanging or installation hardware must be safely installed on the piece.
  • Artwork may be listed as “not for sale.” If the artist chooses to present work for sale, the Partnership will process sales transactions and retains a 30% commission.

Entry Process

The Partnership will review entries and confirm works to be included.  Confirmed artists will be notified no later than April 24.  After artists are notified, artists are responsible for delivery of the artwork to and retrieval of the artwork from the gallery during the appropriate dates.
