Abstract in Bloom presents the works of watercolor artist Kristi Dobrovolski.  Dobrovolski's lily series, coupled with her nature inspired watercolors, flirt with the relationship between art and nature.

Conversations in Abstraction presents the work of three abstract artists working in different mediums: painting, quilting, and stone carving. The work of artists Brendan Robinson, Dale Ashera Davis, and Lucas Rougeux are representative of the intangible, emotional, reflective, and connective human experiences.

Please join Words Out Loud, A Spoken Word Series, as they take their monthly event virtual via Zoom!  

 

May's event features Mark Fishbein, the host of two workshop groups in the district, POTF (Poets on the Fringe) and the DC Poetry Workshop.  He is the author of 4 books of poetry available on Amazon.  Mark will be reading poems from a collection of ekphrastic poetry: Poems Hanging on a Wall.  He will show the art on the computer screen while reading a poem about it.  Mark is also a classical guitarist, playing at readings, wine tastings, art openings, and private affairs.  He is currently completing a book of translations from the French of poet Paul Eluard.

Please join Tango Brillante DC as they present a Milonga lesson and mini concert featuring Maxfield Wollam-Fisher.  Maxfield directs the Da Capo Tango Orchestra and plays cello in the duo Arco y Aire.  He holds degrees from Indiana University and the University of Wisconsin.  He is cohost of the radio show "Bienvenido al Tango" and associate chair of the string department at Levine School of Music.
