The Folklore Society of Greater Washington presents traditional American contra dancing. The evening can include square dances, mixers, waltzes and other couple dances. All Contras and Square dances are taught, no partner is necessary. There is a lesson at 7 p.m., followed by the dance with caller and live music from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Join us for this one of a kind weekend of hash calling, no-walk-throughs, ultra-challenging contras, squares and other formations that will challenge you to your core. William Mentor and Seth Tepfer are your callers for a wonderful one-off weekend of dancer fever dreams!

 

The weekend price is $100 and $80 for members of FSGW, CDSS, BFMS, and ATDS; there is also a $50 discount for youth/students and a limited number of $30 volunteer scholarships.
