The Glen Echo Park Partnership presents a swing dance with live music in the historic Spanish Ballroom. We are pleased to welcome Swing Shift Big Band for their Glen Echo debut!

Since 1994, Swing Shift has been rocking the Washington DC metro area and beyond.  Swing Shift has appeared at the Corcoran Art Gallery, the Kennedy Center, the Washington Hilton, and Blues Alley, Washington D.C.'s premiere jazz club.

Swing Shift originally formed as an amalgamation of refugees from several area bands, including the Bob Louis Big Band, the Kingsmen, Bifocals, Central Heat, the Redskins Band, and the Post-Nuclear Jazz Society. In 2007, the band conscripted veteran guitarist Matt Trimboli to lead Swing Shift as its musical director.  The band continues to explore new musical terrain while maintaining its traditional big band roots.

Admission includes a beginner swing dance lesson with Dabe and Janelle Murphy from 8 - 9 pm, followed by dancing from 9 pm - midnight. Beginners are welcome and no partner is necessary.
