Glen Echo Park Partnership presents a swing dance with live music by Music Unlimited Big Band (MUBB) in the historic Spanish Ballroom.

A beginner dance lesson will run from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm and is included in the cost of admission. Following the lesson will be dancing from 9:00 pm to midnight.  We encourage all to come out -- no partner or prior experience necessary!

And if you are new to dancing or just want to enjoy the music, we will have an area in the Ballroom set aside for listening and viewing. You aren't required to bring your dancing shoes!

Music Unlimited Big Band (MUBB) is the perfect ensemble for a fun night of swing dancing. Directed by James Bazen, the orchestra features some of the DC area’s best musicians performing a wide range of authentic arrangements from Glenn Miller to Brian Setzer and everything in between. MUBB has been performing for discerning audiences for more than 25 years. Past events include Taste of Bethesda, Alexandria Jazz Festival, and the Bethesda Metro Center’s Friday night concert, as well as many private formal affairs. If swing is your thing, then the Music Unlimited Big Band is the band for you.

The Spanish Ballroom, a beautifully restored 1933 Mediterranean style Art Deco building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, hosts nearly 200 dance events each year. It boasts a huge (110’ by 70’) hardwood dance floor that is beloved by dancers throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

All profits from this concert benefit the Glen Echo Park Partnership, which sponsors and hosts an extensive range of art classes, exhibitions, festivals, social dances, children’s theater, and music programs at Glen Echo Park in addition to preserving and maintaining the Park’s historic structures.
