Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery

The Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery is the painting residency at Glen Echo Park. Director Walt Bartman’s goal is to provide a place where those interested in painting can have the opportunity to meet, collaborate, and display their work. They Yellow Barn Studio provides a variety of classes in watercolor, oil and acrylic for students at all levels representing a diversity of philosophies and approaches taken by the faculty.

The Yellow Barn Gallery hosts individual and group art exhibits year–round and is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The Yellow Barn studio provides an array of programs for Yellow Barn members. The Yellow Barn Stone Tower Artist-In-Residence

The Stone Tower Artist–In–Residence Program provides Yellow Barn instructors and other distinguished artists the opportunity to utilize space at Glen Echo Park as a working studio. Artists are in residence in the first floor of the Chautauqua Tower (attached to The Yellow Barn) for a period of 1–3 months. The studio will be open to the public. The artist will offer lectures, demonstrations, and other programs designed to enhance the awareness of art in our area—please click on the ‘month/year’ below for each artist’s specific schedule of events. Visitors are encouraged to enter the studio, ask questions, and enjoy this unique look ‘behind the curtain’ of a real artist’s studio.
