The Sculpture Studio is dedicated to providing the community with the
space, materials, tools, and skills to create sculpture.
A committed group of Sculpture Studio artists work regularly at the studio designing and producing contemporary and traditional carved stone pieces. Introductory classes in stone carving are offered weekly by sculptor and educator Nizette Brennan, and instruction for more experienced sculptors is also offered. The Sculpture Studio also organizes gallery exhibitions for students and studio artists, tours of museums, galleries, and alternative spaces, and presentations on the expansive field of sculpture.
The studio is open to the public at all times during classes and workshops.

Resident Artists/Instructors & Classes:
Nizette Brennan is a sculptor and educator who began stone carving while majoring in studio art at the University of Maryland, College Park. She continued stone carving and teaching on the Greek islands of Naxos and Paros using locally quarried marble. Michaelangelo’s letters led Nizette to Pietrasanta, Italy, where she had her studio for four years during which time she worked alongside other sculptors from all over the world, including the preeminent Japanese American sculptor.
