Art Glass Center at Glen Echo
Glen Echo Park’s glass program includes kilnformed glass and blown glass. Instruction in kilnformed glass is presented by the Art Glass Center at Glen Echo, the Park’s resident kilnformed glass studio and gallery. The Center is directed by artists–in–residence who offer a range of classes from workshops for “first time fusers” to master classes for advanced artists. Classes include fusing, kiln casting, mosaics, jewelry,Venetian glass beadmaking, and stained glass. All classes are taught at the Art Glass Center Studio in the Arcade Building.
Glen Echo Glassworks
Blown glass instruction is presented by Glen Echo Glassworks, the resident glassblowing studio located in the Park’s historic Caretaker’s Cottage. Classes for novice students interested in learning the basics of glassblowing are offered as well as instruction for advanced students.
