Join us as BIG JOE AND THE DYNAFLOWS take the stage at the Spanish Ballroom. Big Joe is musical royalty! A fixture of the DC jazz and blues music scene, Big Joe mixed an early love of Rock and Roll with influences of jazz greats like Clark Terry, Urbie Green, and James Moody, as well as the Big Band/Rhythm and Blues influence of Louis Jordan. Hear for yourself why Frankie Manning, one of the original Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers and an icon to the Swing World, called the Tom Cunningham Orchestra “the Swingin’est Band in all the Land!” The 16-piece orchestra’s appearances at Glen Echo Park are a Washington institution going back to 1983 and celebrated on TV, radio, newspapers and in books. So take a tip from The Washington Post’s Mike Joyce, “The Cunningham Band is bound to please.”

Enjoy a beginning swing lesson with Tom & Debra of Gottaswing at 8 pm, followed by dancing from 9 pm to midnight. No partner or prior experience needed.
