Photoworks Gallery is pleased to present 2017 Photoslam. This exhibition will showcase the 2016 Photoslam winners. The exhibit features work that ranges from intimate portraits to street photography and sweeping minimalist landscapes.

Artists exhibiting work in the show includes 2016's first place winner Tom Mullins, second place Denzil Spicer, third place Tanguy de Carbonnières, and the audience choice Saul Pleeter.

Glen Echo Park Partnership is pleased to present Mosaics: One Piece at a Time.  This exhibition highlights the breadth of current work from a select group of mosaic artists from across the region.  Featured artists include Bonnie Fitzgerald, Yulia Hanansen, Ali Mirsky, Jane Pettit, Carol Talkov, Meghan Walsh and Roslyn Zinner.  The exhibition is in collaboration with the JRA Distinguished Artist Series workshop by mosaic artist Sonia King, November 18.

Come join us for another night of Brazilian zouk & West Coast Swing! This time, we are fortunate to have internationally renowned artist Marc Brewer teaching our special intermediate zouk workshop with plenty of techniques that are easily applicable across all dance styles.

WHO IS MARC BREWER?

As featured on America's Got Talent, internationally renowned artist Marc Brewer, based in Michigan, is one of North America's most sought after Afro-Latin Dance instructors, performers, and choreographers. Certified in 9 American competitive ballroom dances and proficient in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Hip-hop, dances in the Afro-Latin genre are his specialty and main focus with extensive training and experience in Kizomba, Salsa, Bachata, Theater Arts (Lifts, Dips, and Tricks), and Brazilian-Zouk. He is rapidly leaving his mark on the competitive Afro-Latin dance world with recent finalist placements at the American Kizomba Open Championship (1st) and International Kizomba Open (3rd) in 2013 and the 2014 Toronto Bachata Congress Kings of Bachata Competition (2nd).

The Glen Echo Park Partnership presents a swing dance with live music in the historic Spanish Ballroom. Tonight we have the Music Unlimited Big Band, directed by James Bazen. You'll enjoy dancing to classic Big Band tunes from the likes of Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, and Tommy Dorsey - and don't be surprised if you hear a few swingin' holiday songs!

 

Tom & Debra of Gottaswing will be on hand to teach the beginner dance lesson and DJ the band breaks.

 

A beginner dance lesson runs from 8 - 9 pm and is included in the cost of admission, followed by dancing from 9 pm - midnight. No partner or prior experience needed.
