This marionette romp in which three brothers get the goat of a hen-pecked troll, in their attempts to trip-trap-tromp to where the grass is greener. Three variety numbers precede the performance, demonstrating the making of a simple hand puppet, and manipulation of rod puppets and marionettes, as an introduction to the art of puppetry.
Age recommendation: 3 1/2 years old to 9 years old; Running time: 40 minutes.

Family Day gets a new name, CAROUSEL DAY! Celebrate the opening of Glen Echo Park's historic Dentzel Carousel for its 97th season. Glass Arts Festival 2017

Discover the joy of glass at the 2017 Glass Arts Festival. Experienced glass artists from the National Capital Art Glass Guild will demonstrate glass techniques ranging from stained glass to fused glass to blown glass. Visitors will see how artists create jewelry, stained glass panels, blown vessels, recycled glass art, and fused glass sculpture. Highlights include a special glass blowing demonstration at Glassworks studio and a murrini pull that produces long rods of patterned glass at the Art Glass Center.
Kids will create colorful faux glass pieces in a special children’s activity, while parents can peruse an array of glass gifts in our mini pop-up store in the Bumper Car Pavilion.
Fun for all ages! All artist demonstrations are free and do not require registration or tickets.
